Principles of Serendipity
Conference
The “Principles of Serendipity” conference, taking place on November 8 and 9, will bring together a diverse range of perspectives from designers, artists, and theorists who are deeply engaged in (expanded) graphic design and creative research, with the aim of advancing and critically examining the field of communication design. The conference speakers represent a broad spectrum of international design discourse, using design as a tool for knowledge production and engagement with visual culture.
We interpret the title “Principles of Serendipity” as both a core research principle and a theme for the conference: not all discoveries are planned or predictable; often, it is the open and exploratory approach to a research subject that leads to valuable insights and creative outcomes.
